Hiatus

To members of Welcome to Hogwarts,

I will be taking a hiatus from the forums for an indeterminate length of time. When I first joined this site in 2005, I enjoyed coming here to role play because it was fun. I became an Admin about four years ago and even began to recruit my friends to it. However, lately, this has begun to feel like more of a job. I have heard from too many people how it is somehow my fault if the site fails.

The truth is, I'm tired. This site belongs to Albus Dumbledore. I am an administrator; I help him manage the site. I do not own it, nor am I the systems operator. This site goes through up and downs, periods of activity and inactivity. Regardless of what the site is going through, it is because of the efforts of many members... not just one... Frankly, I am offended that some of you have decided to put this on my shoulders.

This site is no longer fun for me. It is a job. And until I can feel like it is fun again, I will be taking a hiatus. This includes my characters: Persephone, Lilianna Aurora Black, and Christopher Zhou.

I apologize for all of this.

I've read many times over how this site has become "unfun" to multiple people, though i have never heard it being blamed on anyone, which is just sad. I too would admit that this site would be becoming uninteresting, but i think its mainly cause that we're swinging to far away from the original harry potter. i have recently started re-reading the books and have rediscovered how enchanting it rather is, which is how we all have come to learn to love the harry potter series, and i think that this site is loosing that enchantment. one might think its cause there is no real problem between the death eaters and the order, but in the first few books there were no such thing, i think we just need to bring hogwarts back to life, its magic and all. too many people here are "sneaking out" when in the book, almost everyone is terrified to enter the forbidden forest, and that classes aren't taken as seriously, tho i do agree its kinda hard to constantly continue those. but maybe we should bring in some of the old? doesn't exactly have to be canon characters, but ideas, like a person who is overly into rules, (prefects like Percy) or are study freaks (Hermoine-like people).

just a pointing this out and sorta suggesting, in face of trouble, communicating is best, or something like that :' d
