Please only post in the third person tense.
ex: Sirius Black leaned against his desk.
Please no first person tense.
ex: I leaned against my desk.
Dialogue is to be put between quotation marks.
ex: Sirius leaned against his desk and held the text book up in his hands. The students looked frightened to be there, but he couldn't help but notice that there was definite excitement in the air. "Hello," Sirius said. "Welcome to Defense Against the Dark Arts."
This is not acceptable:
ex: Sirius leaned against his desk and held the text book up in his hands. The students looked frightened to be there, but he couldn't help but notice that there was definite excitement in the air. Hello, Sirius said. Welcome to Defense Against the Dark Arts.
or

Hello Sirius said. Welcome to Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Or anything like that.
Another thing to note is that W2H is turn based. That means that we do not want you to double post in In-character boards/threads. If you would like to add on to your previous post, simply modify it. Do not make a new one.
There is NO god-modding on W2H unless you have been given permission by the character you are role playing with. All characters on the site are human (or human-like) and do have flaws and weaknesses. There are no perfect characters that have skin made of battle armor that can deflect even the most powerful of spells. Granted, first years should probably try not to duel adults and so on, and adults should probably try not to duel Albus Dumbledore or administrators, but even administrators can lose duels. Do not take control of how your actions effect another character, though. Nobody can know for certain if your character really strikes fear into the hearts of others simply by your presence alone. Just saying...
Though we do have strength charts and age charts, we do not wish to enforce this strictly. We hope that we can use an honor system on the site. Please don't make us resort to dice rolls. Fight fairly in duels, take your hits, and move on.
That should do it!
