Students:
Our goal at Welcome to Hogwarts is to make sure that all of our members enjoy their time role playing at our forums. The last thing we want to do is overload you with more 'course work.' However, we also feel that to truly capture the essence of Harry Potter, classes are something that are essential to the role playing experience.
All of our professors have strict guide lines in teaching that will ensure a simple class forum for all student members. While it is required that you take courses to move up in year, you do not necessarily have to participate in the classroom threads to pass a course (though you will not get full credit). Homework, midterms, and finals will be assign but they are designed to be straightforward and easy.
Basically, at the beginning of each lesson, your professor will begin with a post that will touch upon all of the points you will be learning in that particular session. This post will be where the homework questions are derived from. So, for those not interested in participating in the threads, all you need to do is find the assigned homework and refer to the first post. However, for those who do wish to earn those participation points, after the first post, the thread is open to student driven lessons and debates.
At the end of the term, the Deputy Headmaster will collect the grades, record them, and then clear you to move up to the next year if you have passed. No class is designed to stump you. If you do the work, you will move up in years.
