Zac was born in Russia but he moved to England before he was even 1 years old. His father was always strict with him and used to beat him up if he did something wrong. Though his father hit him, he never hit his mother which he was grateful for.
His mother was always worried that his father would kill him one day but didn't have the courage to step up to him. She always tried to make Zac behave so his father wouldn't hit him but his father always found an excuse.
When Zac was eleven his father wanted him to go to Drumstrangs but it eventually he ended up by going to Hogwart's. At first he had very few friends but in his second year he took it together and decided to be more open to people and started to evolve friendships around the school.
When he was in his third year his father pulled him out of Hogwart's during christmas break and transferred him to Drumstrangs. He did that because he felt that the boy needed to learn more and get punished the right way (his way). Zac didn't like it there, they were so robotic. Plus there were no girls allowed there.
When he was in the beginning of his fifth year at Drumstrangs his father flipped and hit his mother. His grandmother saw how she looked after that and made a request that he would be put in Azkaban. His mother testified against him and told them that his father had repeatedly beat Zac up and they locked him away.
As soon as Zac heard he got a transfer to Hogwart's again.
